Last Day in Cusco, Peru

Sleeping in a nice bed after three nights in a tent with no sleeping bag felt amazing. I woke up after a glorious 8 hours of sleep and took a long nice hot shower. Got an amazing omelette here at the hostel and then met up with Sharon (Canadian girl) and Andreas (German from Munich) for a free walking tour of Cusco. The guy giving the tour looked like a kid from the Mission in SF or from Wicker Park in Chicago - total hipster but kinda awesome. You could really tell he was excited about the city and the tour, and it was fun to hear his point of view. He was into music and art, so we got a glimpse of a musician and instrument-maker - loved that! We also learned about the city, which is in the shape of a Puma - a magical animal for the Incas. He took us to a sushi restaurant to taste some of their food (random) and then onto a chocolate factory where you can make your own chocolate. My camera died before the chocolate factory - sorry :( After that we went and had lunch at an Indian restaurant that was recommended to us by a bunch of people, and it was surprisingly great! Yes, Indian food in the heart of Peru - go figure. Then we went to a travel agent and me and Andreas booked a bus for tomorrow that takes us south to Puno, Peru, which is on Lake Titicaca. There we get picked up and taken to this floating island made of bamboo called Uros, where we will stay the night with the locals. After tomorrow night we'll boat back to Puno and then bus onto Copacabana, Bolivia to chill on the beach for a day or two. Excited to be traveling with Andreas - a really nice guy from Munich. Everyone always says you meet people along your journey, and they were all right. Not sure I'll have internet tomorrow night but once in Bolivia I'll write about the experience - should be out of this world. Some good pics from today (and a pic of the meal I had the night before I left for Machu Picchu).
