Pumpkin Patching

Sunday the plan was to meet up with another college buddy and his family. Dave was another football player, and also just a great guy. He's lived in Seattle for a few years now, and he's married to a great woman named Devon, and they now have two kids themselves: Lucy and Grace. So cute. First I start the day out with a hike in the nearby woods with Seth and Ketch. So fun. Ketch loves spotting horse poop on the trail. Comedy. We run up and down the trails, and it's fun making Ketch laugh as much as possible. After a quick lunch Dave and Devon come bye with their kids, and we hang at the house for a bit before going to a local pumpkin patch / winery. Classic!! I love going to pumpkin patches near Halloween because it's so fun to see the kids get so excited. Aside from the kids, the aesthetics of this location are unreal (pics below). We pic out some winning pumpkins and then head back to the house to start making dinner. Alissa had the idea that each of us could make a dish incorporating pumpkin somehow, so I decided to compile a spicy pumpkin dip (pic below). Quite the project but completely fun. I think everyone loved it! We then had pumpkin soup followed by a pumpkin-style chili. To cap off the meal we had pumpkin cupcakes made by Alissa's mom, who is also visiting this week. What a meal!! Love the seasonality of everything we ate, and it was just a blast to cook everything and eat with two families. We watched some football and talked a bunch about college, kids, the future, and Seattle. It was great seeing Dave and Devon, and meeting there kids, and I felt lucky for the time we spent.

Oh! Totally forgot that Dave, Seth, and I went to a nearbye park to play frisbee during the day as well. I LOVE frisbee - especially in a big open park - so that was definitely a highlight of the day.
