Culture Day!

I drank too much last night….and I guess yesterday in general. Drinking at the pool in the afternoon and then at dinner and then in a park in old city and then on the street near Oliver's hotel was enough to put me to sleep. The night really ended when a group of about five Colombians were standing in front of us devouring a bag of cocaine and we looked at each other and said "Time to go home!" Suffice it to say this morning was a little rough (read: Roman rocking the bathroom 5 times before lunch), and so we decided to do a "culture day" here in Cartagena. We went to the Museum of Modern Art, which was beautiful but very small and they didn't have any air conditioning (bummed me out cause some of the art was eroding). Check out the picture below of the four naked women - one in her wedding dress - that was our favorite of the day. The woman in the right of the picture has the most enormous hands, and the overall painting was intriguing - interesting and deep. We then walked around old city and checked out the Gold Museum, saw a beautiful public library, and a private gallery as well. Next we jumped in the smallest cab ever (four of us packed in like sardines) and headed to the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas. Very beautiful and we timed it up so we caught another amazing sunset :) Next we walked to a neighborhood pizza place which was surprisingly VERY good, and to top things off the owner gave us free homemade bread when we left. I cannot say how kind and loving Colombians have been towards me thus far. Here are some pics from today.
